The inaugural Indian Open of Surfing was held at Sasihithlu Beach, Mangaluru from 27 to 29 May 2016. Presented as the All Cargo Indian Open of Surfing, the first edition launched the event as Karnataka’s first major surfing festival and brought national-level surf competition to the Karnataka coast.
